Mindy advocates for YOU by: learning your side of the story, fighting to have the charges reduced or dismissed, filing motions regarding illegal search and seizure and other legal issues, interviewing and investigating all witnesses including law enforcement officers to expose any lies or fabrications, explore the use of experts where appropriate, and doing a review to ensure all of your constitutional right were respected.

Our Approach: Mindy approaches criminal cases in an aggressive fashion.  She has a detailed plan for each case and spends a great deal of time with each client explaining the law and the possible consequences of the charges.  Mindy wants to hear your side of the story; this enables her to fight for you in the most effective way possible.  She is compassionate, non-judgmental and is willing to take the case to trial.  The results she sees in the courtroom are remarkable and she can help you make it through this difficult time with your head held high.

Mindy Gulati is known to her colleagues as a fighter- she never backs down and works tirelessly for her clients. Her approach is unique in that she first learns about who her client is and focuses her attention on telling their story in her dealings with the courts.  She is known for her trial skills and her great success rate in trials.  She has won the majority of her jury trials, something that is remarkable in a tough, judgmental society. Mindy credits her victories to her immense preparation and her ability to connect with her client and convey her client’s story to the jury.  Jurors have commented after trial that they couldn’t convict her client because they truly got to know that person and cared for them.  That is what she offers to each of her clients.

Mindy Gulati began her career as an attorney fighting against the police and the government who tried to trample the rights of her clients.  Her first case involved a protester who was harassed and arrested by the San Diego Police Department while exercising his first amendment rights.  She fought vigorously for this gentleman, filed motions and eventually the case was dismissed.  She went on to work in the Orange County Public Defender’s Office as a Trial Attorney.

There she handled thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from DUI to robbery.  She also handled juvenile dependency cases where parents faced having their children taken by the county.

Mindy has always been on the side of the people, not the government.  She prides herself of being well prepared and having vast knowledge of the law.  Judges and other attorneys admire and respect Mindy for her work ethic and have made numerous comments on what a pleasure it is working with her.

Above all Mindy is a true believer that everyone deserves to be heard.  Her compassion for her clients is foremost in her practice of law and her dedication to their case is unmatched.  She fights vigorously on every case and her success is evident in the results she has obtained for clients.

Mindy now represents clients in criminal cases, parents in dependency cases, and acts as an advocate for political groups who fight injustice across the country.
